Below The Waterline

The hull below the waterline may be out of sight, but should never be out of mind and routine maintenance is essential for the wellbeing of your Shrimper.

Although that curse of GRP, osmosis, is almost non-existent in Cornish Shrimper hulls, with over 1000 boats afloat, there is always a risk of the odd occurrence and below can be found one owner's experiences.

Also featured are some thoughts on how to remove old antifouling before applying the new.

Finally, some information on corrosion and its causes.  Although not exclusive to this area of the hull, corrosion is certainly more likely on materials in contact with sea water.
