We would like to introduce you to our beautiful protected waters of The Solent and Chichester Harbour.

SOA 2003 010.jpgWe enjoy safe sheltered sailing in an area that provides unlimited potential for fun, adventure, exciting sailing, lots of pottering possibilites and peaceful anchorages that are out of reach to most of the larger craft but perfect for our small but seaworthy Shrimpers.

Protected by the Isle of Wight the Solent has many safe and beautiful harbours, many ideally suited to the shallow draft of the Shrimper but all providing a uniquely different character to the visiting sailor. Chichester is arguably the ideal Shrimper harbour in which it is possible to sail and explore it's many different creeks in almost any weather.

Rafted up in Yarmouth

Each season we put together a variety of events and cruises exploring the different areas of the Solent and Chichester. Some events are at weekends, other 2-5 day trips are usually held mid week.

At the western end of the Solent we have a choice of lovely places to visit for a day sail or a stopover.  On the Isle of Wight we visit Yarmouth, Newtown, the Medina river and Island Harbour.  On the mainland we can go to Beaulieu River, Lymington and Keyhaven.  So there's peace and quiet to be had or plenty of hustle and bustle around Calshot and in Southampton Water.  If the natural world is your interest we can tempt you with sightings of seals, dolphins, red squirrels and recently sea eagles!

The two regions are now organised separately with events for each region co-ordinated by;-

West Solent - Jacquie Frampton,  Noggin the Nog 21#103

Chichester/East Solent - John Montgomery,  Blue Moon 21#65

Any local owners who moor their Shrimpers in Chichester may wish to contact

Gerry McGeehan of Amigo 21/#21, who arranges weekday cruises in Chichester harbour during the season, on 07428060788 or
