Shrimper Mk 1 "Pixie"

Pixie is in overall very good condition and was completely overhauled by myself over the winter and spring of 2024/25.  Hull colour is dark green, with deck & cabin light "mushroom" colour.   The forward cabin bulkhead has been removed the to gain space in the cabin, brass potholes fitted, centre plate pivot bolt and lifting wire replaced and all running rigging replaced with Polyhemp.  The mast was repaired in October ‘24 by St John’s Boats, Colchester when a 600mm section was scarfed on the top.

Sails are in good serviceable condition and the jib has a new Allen furling drum.

A Shrimper boom tent increases the accommodation.

In the cabin there are bunk cushions, a single burner gas stove, a Porta Potti 335, which stows under the cabin threshold and a single gimballed oil lamp. The cabin entrance has a sliding hatch and doors on lift off hinges in place of hatch boards.   Full length cockpit seat  cushions.

Pixie is fitted with a 6hp Yamaha, 4 stroke outboard which was serviced in spring 2025, it has both integral and remote tanks.

Pixie’s road trailer is a braked, 2 wheel, Indespension ‘Dipper’, complete with winch, new spare wheel and tyre, drop down legs and a full width light board. The wheel bearings were replaced in June 2025.

Currently afloat on the Norfolk Broads until end of October
