Rally to Newton Ferrers
Rally from Salcombe to Newton Ferrers
Over the weekend of 26th and 27th June
We plan to leave Salcombe after half ebb on Saturday with the current in our favour and have a rising tide entering the Yealm . The water would then rise in the evening to allow us to raft up outside the Dolphin pub for supper and then pick up a mooring or anchor overnight . Sunday morning would be for pottering and late afternoon catch the flood back to Salcombe to arrive early evening .
In reasonable weather the passage should take about 3 hours .
Those sailing from Plymouth will have to adjust their timing and of course will have a shorter sail.
If anyone is planning on sailing from Dartmouth , they may think about a stop over in Salcombe . As it will not be high season there will always be available either swinging or pontoon moorings in the harbour . Either book a mooring by ringing the Harbour Office beforehand or on arrival give a radio call to the Harbourmaster.
