the season of 2006

The nights draw in and the time has come to record the events of our sailing season of 2006. This page will evolve as more stories and photographs come in but will basically be the index to logs of what we achieved during this year. It will be a collective record of our life afloat.

round the island race

Six entries this year and two finishers; Bumble Chugger in 13 hours 24 minutes and Porthilly Dreamer in 13 hours 37 minutes. A great race by the sound of it through Robin Whittle's account, more..

the international week in falmouth

A great week followed, by an intrepid few, by more sailing down to the Scillies or east to Fowey and beyond (I think but nothing heard from those that went!). The first log is in from Robin Whittle, more..

trailing to malta

How far can you trail a Shrimper? Well this year I decided that the time had come to take Blue Moon out to Malta; it took three days to trail 1,800 miles from Bristol to Valetta. It took another 4 weeks to make use of the effort, but Blue Moon will stay there for a few years to enable a full discovery of the islands from the sea, more..

solent weekend

A selection of photos from the Solent Weekend, more..

what did you do?

Please do not be shy. A few words and a couple of pictures will tell the great story that you have to tell of what you achieved in your Shrimper this year. Please e-mail be details to soa@shrimperowners.org.
